Rachel has photographed many subjects, from flowers to architecture to landscapes. She has traveled the countryside looking for old barns and has quite an extensive portfolio. Her current interest is mainly in  creating abstract images, with a particular interest in old and abandoned things such as barns, walls, cars, and dumpsters. She says ‘ I seek to remind us that even in neglect and decay there lies beauty and resonance. I am intrigued by the various compositions of shape, color, and texture that are revealed in old cars, walls, dumpsters. I am particularly drawn to texture, and bring this out more in processing my shots.
